The ICPL-480 series is a fast-speed photocoupler designed for high common mode rejection. It integrates a LED and a photo detector with a built-in Schmitt trigger for logic-compatible waveforms, eliminating the need for external wave shaping components. The totem pole output stage simplifies integration by removing the requirement for a pull-up resistor, enabling direct drive of Intelligent Power Modules or gate drives. Its minimized propagation delay difference between devices contributes to improved inverter efficiency by reducing switching dead time.
