Product Overview

The PVI5033R Photovoltaic Isolator is a dual-channel, opto-isolated driver designed to directly drive the gates of power MOSFETs or IGBTs. It features a novel monolithic integrated circuit photovoltaic generator as its output, controlled by a GaAlAs LED optically isolated from the generator. This isolator is ideal for high-current and/or high-voltage switching applications requiring optical isolation between low-level driving circuitry and high-energy load circuits. The dual-channel configuration allows for independent driving of discrete power MOSFETs or parallel/series connection for higher-current or higher-voltage drive capabilities. It includes fast turn-off circuitry and is available in an 8-pin DIP package with thru-hole or gull-wing terminals, offered in standard plastic shipping tubes or on tape-and-reel.
