Product Overview

The Broadcom ACPL-M50L, ACPL-054L, ACPL-W50L, and ACPL-K54L are low power, 1-MBd digital optocouplers designed for electrical insulation between input and output. These optocouplers utilize an insulating layer between a light-emitting diode and an integrated photon detector. By providing separate connections for the photodiode bias and output transistor collector, they achieve significantly increased speed compared to conventional photo-transistor couplers. With a minimum common-mode transient immunity of 15 kV/s at VCM = 1500V over a temperature range of 40C to +105C, these devices offer robust performance. Typical current transfer ratios are 140% for ACPL-M50L and 130% for ACPL-054L/W50L/K54L at IF = 3 mA. They are suitable for TTL/CMOS, TTL/LSTTL, and wide bandwidth analog applications, including communications interfaces, digital signal isolation, microcontroller interfaces, and feedback elements in switching power supplies.
