The Broadcom ACPL-W454/P454 is a high-speed transistor output optocoupler designed for demanding applications requiring short propagation delays and high Current Transfer Ratio (CTR). It offers guaranteed propagation delay difference (tPLH tPHL), making it an ideal solution for IPM inverter dead time and other switching challenges. The optocoupler features separate photodiode bias and output transistor collector connections, significantly increasing speed by reducing base-collector capacitance. Its specifications and performance are detailed for both TTL and IPM load/drive conditions, simplifying application design. The device provides electrical insulation between input and output via an insulating layer between the LED and integrated photo detector.
