The HCPL-3140/HCPL-0314 family of optocouplers features a GaAsP LED coupled to an integrated circuit with a power output stage. These devices are designed for driving power IGBTs and MOSFETs in motor control inverter applications, offering high operating voltage and current capabilities suitable for directly driving small to medium power IGBTs. Key features include a minimum peak output current of 0.4 A, fast response times with a maximum propagation delay of 0.7 s, and ultra-high common-mode transient immunity (CMR) of 25 kV/s. They operate over a wide temperature range (40C to 100C) and voltage range (10 V to 30 V), are available in DIP8 and SO8 packages, and hold safety approvals from UL, CSA, and IEC/EN/DIN EN 60747-5-2.
