The HCPL-316J is a 2.5 Amp Gate Drive Optocoupler with integrated VCE desaturation detection and fault status feedback. It offers a compact, affordable, and easy-to-implement solution for IGBT VCE fault protection, satisfying worldwide safety and regulatory requirements. This highly integrated device provides a complete, isolated IGBT gate drive circuit with fault protection and feedback in a single SO-16 package. It is designed to increase the performance and reliability of motor drives by offering features like user-configurable inputs, integrated VCE detection, under-voltage lockout (UVLO), "soft" IGBT turn-off, and optically isolated fault feedback, all while reducing the cost, size, and complexity of discrete designs. The HCPL-316J is suitable for driving IGBTs up to IC = 150A, VCE = 1200V and is compatible with CMOS/TTL logic levels.
