Product Overview
The Broadcom HCPL-315X series comprises optically coupled isolators designed for driving power IGBTs and MOSFETs in motor control inverter applications. These optocouplers integrate an LED with an advanced integrated circuit featuring a power output stage, providing the necessary drive voltages for gate-controlled devices. With a high operating voltage range, they are well-suited for directly driving IGBTs up to 1200V/50A. For higher-rated IGBTs, the HCPL-3150/315J can drive a discrete power stage. Key applications include isolated IGBT/MOSFET gate drives, AC and brushless DC motor drives, industrial inverters, switch mode power supplies (SMPSs), and uninterruptable power supplies (UPSs).
